The Chauvin Arnoux CA1821 Single-Channel Contact Thermometer is compatible with a wide range of different contact thermocouples (type E, J, K, N, R, S, T) which allows it to measure air, liquid and surface temperature. It has a minimum temperature reading of -250˚C and a maximum temperature reading of 1767˚C (range depends on probe type). Readings are always given to 0.1˚C below 1000˚C and 1˚C above 1000˚C whilst accuracy varies between 0.1% and 0.2% depending on the probe and temperature level. Please note that no probes are included as standard with the thermometer.

The thermometer has a large backlit display that clearly shows the current temperature reading. The user can toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit very easily and the Chauvin Arnoux CA1821 offers minimum/maximum recording and data hold. Operation is extremely easy thanks to the one-button-one-function principle and the internal memory has enough space for over 1 million values so it is suitable for long-term monitoring. It is possible to set defined alarm limits and instances where alarms are triggered will be saved to the memory. The user can take spot readings or use a programmed measurement schedule for monitoring.

The Chauvin Arnoux CA1821 has a battery life of 1000 hours in portable mode and up to three-years in long-term recording mode. The USB and wireless Bluetooth interfaces enable it to communicate results to a PC using freely available Data Logger Transfer software. Once downloaded, the software can be used to produce comprehensive reports. The casing is IP54 rated and the instrument is covered by a two-year warranty.
